All I gotta say is
I just wanna have some fun
And I'll do it until I'm done
I'm telling you
I'm just a crazy kind of girl
I'll tell it to the world
I've just begun having my fun
Inside me there's something I found
I wanna shop around
I've just begun
Don't wanna settle down

Au revoir.

Wello people.
It has been barely 24 hours since the news broke and it has already reached its saturation point: Ronaldo heads to Real Madrid. Yes, it has been confirmed. I woke up feeling positively jubilant, well, not really, but I was beyond shocked when I read the news. Navin FB-ed me asking if I'm gonna support Real Madrid now. I admit, Ronaldo was a huge part as to why I became a Manchester United fan and it might be the same case for a few of you. The rest of you probably were wanting to pat Fergie's shoulder when he signed Ronaldo. But let's face it, we fell in love with the dorky, insecure Ronaldo as apposed to the Ronaldo we see now: Handsome, cocky and over-confident.
Don't get me wrong, I still am a fan. I still am amazed with his skills, but not so much his.... Tactics. Sure, his move would prove a significant hole in our future line-ups but I for one am kind of glad that he left. He didn't love the club. He didn't play for the club. He didn't for once score a goal for the club. It was all about him, as an individual.
Anyone watched the United vs Barcelona match? Did you notice how moody he was? Who can forget the Manchester Derby where Ronnie threw his tracksuit on the ground after being substituted in an hour? That is total and blatant disrespect for Fergie. I couldn't believe Fergie actually defended him after that. Pathetic, I tell you.
These are the incidents when I feel ashamed to be his fan. This is also why I'm slightly envious of Steven Gerrard's fans. As much as I hate the fellow, I can't help but wish that Ronnie would be more like him. Gerrard loves Liverpool. It's obvious. He could have left for Chelsea, gaining fame and wealth as he did. The thing is, he didn't. He stayed on only for his undying love for the club. He was a Liverpool fan as a kid and it's impressive to see that fame and wealth has not deterred that. United might have more fans than Liverpool but Liverpool definitely has much more dedicated fans, within its team and the public. Oh well.
Real Madrid has officially become the dumping ground for Fergie's rejects and rebels. Read: Beckham. Selflessness is a guiding trait of Ferguson's United. The brotherhood is all. Self-promoting players like Beckham and Ronaldo do not fit in. So, good riddance I say.
Ronnie, I love you but I won't miss you (:
