All I gotta say is
I just wanna have some fun
And I'll do it until I'm done
I'm telling you
I'm just a crazy kind of girl
I'll tell it to the world
I've just begun having my fun
Inside me there's something I found
I wanna shop around
I've just begun
Don't wanna settle down

Au revoir.

Hello everyone!
Revethi and I went to the museum today! Haha. We walked from my place to the museum actually. It was really really cool. Worth every dollar really. The place changed so much since the last time i went there. It looks old and nostalgic from the outside but inside it's modern and chic. They currently have two really cool exhibits. One's called DoubleHappiness. It's a photog exhibit by this guy named Chang about the Chinese in a different perspective. Three segments consisting of Taiwanese men's vietnamese wives, Mentally unstable people and Chinese immigrants in New York. All three were eye openers really. The Vietnamese wives one was really pityful actually. Some of them were as young as 17 and really pretty but their chinese grooms were like, 60+? Wth right. Apparently they meet and the guy chooses which girl he wants out of the whole group. He then pays about US35K for his bride. 3 days later, they get married along with other couples. The women have to suffer because they are suddenly thrust into a different culture with a different language, different food and different ways of life. Kinda reminded me of pet shops. You know when people go and pick the cutest puppy and pay to take it home. Then they neglect it. Animalistic comparison. The other two were not as impactful. The New York immigrants one really put me off. The men work 20/7 and sleep in overcrowded dorms and building rooftops while their family back home in chinese villages have handphones, air-conditioning. They're considered to be living a life of ''luxury''. You enjoy ''luxuries'' at the expense of your father's entire life. Sounds farmilar? What really grossed me out is that the kids are actually VERY happy. Enough about that. The second exhibition was much cooler! It's called Voom and i forgot who the artist is. Some farmilar faces we saw included Brad Pitt and JOHNNY DEPP! Lol. Before we entered the hall we didn't know the ''paintings'' were actually videos. The very first one we saw was a Shaggy dog panting away! Haha! Totally adorable. Three of these videos really got to us. One, the panther: Breathtaking video! The panther was so calm. Maybe it was drugged but nonetheless it was really beautiful. Two, the arrow guy: He was still we didn't know if it was a picture or video! He controlled his breathing dammit! Kudos to the guy for making it an awesome work of art! Three, Johnny Depp: Not based on how much we like him. His picture had a very 'PiratesOTC'ness about it. His face was serious but the picture has some humour to it! Plus he had on a feather boa! Haha!
After that we went to the gallery of Singapore History. Found out A LOT of things about our pre-colonial history. Stuff like the different tribes in singapore and how the three princes, the oldest being Sang Nila Utama, are actually connected to Indian Mythology! And the there were the Malayan tales as well. Interesting. Oh and did you know that the Dutch wanted Singapore so badly that Raffles and this Dutch guy Van Der Something almost declared war. People actually wanted Singapore pretty badly then. Times have changed. Now we're the irritating little poison shrimp on the map. I was about to type something out but i stopped myself because i KNOW i'll get arrested for saying that. But i think i can go as far as to tell you guys to go and check out violation of human rights.
Went to The Flyer to eat afterwards. Couldn't finish our food for once. Lol. Other than that nothing else happened.
OH WAIT. I got the song up. Make sure you pause it after listening or it'll go on and on. Lol.
I'll post later when i have more to say!
LoveLots,
Ragini(:
